Malaysian Surprised to Discover Scalper Selling Immigration Queue Numbers for RM50 Each at UTC Pudu Sentral

A Malaysian recently shared their surprise on the Chinese social media site Xiaohongshu about an encounter with an 'uncle' at the Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM) office at UTC Pudu Sentral in Kuala Lumpur.

The man was selling queue numbers he had secured online to people visiting the immigration office for RM50 each!

An Uncle Running a “Queue Number Grabbing” Business at UTC Pudu

In the post, the individual explained that they had been working at UTC Pudu Sentral for a few days and noticed the uncle present at the immigration office every day.

Curious about why the uncle was there for several days in a row, the original poster approached him to inquire.

To their surprise, the uncle revealed that he was not there for any immigration-related matters but was running a “queue number grabbing” business for visitors of the immigration office.

The uncle explained that he uses multiple smartphones daily to secure queue numbers on the mobile app and sells them to visitors, especially those unfamiliar with the online queue system, for RM50 each.

The Immigration Department now issues queue numbers exclusively through the Queue Management System (QMS) on their mobile app, eliminating physical queue numbers. The uncle takes advantage of this by securing the numbers online and selling them to those in need for RM50 each.
