"He regards me as a friend, but I consider myself a father figure" – Malaysian Confesses Falling in Love with His Best Friend's Mother.

On Dcard, a Chinese platform for anonymous confessions, a recent post gained viral attention as a man shared his deep feelings for a woman. The twist? She's not a peer or an online acquaintance but rather the mother of his friend.

Is he contemplating confessing his love to his friend's mother? To put it simply, he's considering stepping into the role of his friend's father.

In the post, the man reminisced about his long-standing friendship since high school with his friend. Recently, during a visit to his friend's house, he spent the night and finally met the woman who captured his heart.

“She appears to be in her early 30s and has a commendable skincare routine. We had extensive conversations about each other's lives that night.”

Soon after, the man found himself constantly daydreaming about his friend's mother, actively seeking opportunities to visit his friend's house to catch a glimpse of "the love of his life."

The woman's husband had left many years ago, described as an "irresponsible man." Matters quickly escalated as the man started chatting with his friend's mother on WeChat daily. Despite acknowledging the age gap and acknowledging something doesn't feel quite right, he admitted, "I'm starting to feel that things are not headed in the right direction. But I don't want to stop."

The post concluded with the man questioning whether he is morally wrong for secretly developing feelings for his friend's mother.

“He sees me as a friend, and I see myself as his father.”

While age isn't typically a barrier in consensual adult relationships, this situation raises the question: should the man be honest about his feelings, or is it time for him to try to suppress them?
