In an unexpected twist, a man from Kuching, Sarawak, made a startling discovery on what was supposed to be his wedding day – his fiancée was already married with two children.

As reported by Harian Metro, the revelation unfolded on November 10, the scheduled wedding day, when the man learned the truth from the bride's own aunt.

The engaged couple had been betrothed since October 12 of the previous year, with all wedding arrangements, including the presentation of gifts (hantaran) to the bride's family, completed.

Although the identities of the individuals involved were not disclosed, it was revealed that the bride held a position in a government agency.

Suspicions arose when the fiancée vanished without a trace on November 9, a day before the planned wedding. Attempts to contact her were thwarted as she had blocked the man's phone number.

Upon arriving at the intended wedding venue in Daro with his family, the man discovered that the rooms, which were supposed to be reserved by the bride, were not under their names. Fatigued and left with no choice, he used his own money to cover expenses that should have been handled by the bride.

Further investigation at the wedding venue revealed the absence of furnishings or decorations, and calls to the fiancée and her father went unanswered. The man and his family sought information from a neighbor, who, to their surprise, turned out to be the bride's aunt.

In the ensuing conversation, the man learned that the name provided by the bride was false. Expressing disbelief at the willingness of the woman's father to conspire in hiding her marital status, the man recounted his mix of emotions – speechlessness, anger, and sadness.

Faced with financial losses from wedding preparations, a divided hantaran fund, and damage to his family's reputation, the man lodged a police report against his fiancée. In a Facebook post, he urged relevant authorities to take firm action against her and hinted at pursuing legal measures against the woman for her various acts of deception.
