Devoted Malaysian Cherishes 'Bantal Busuk' Companion Since 1998, Even as It Transforms into a Simple Rag
In her TikTok post under the username @innnnnn_tan, a devoted Malaysian woman illustrates the profound significance of a 'bantal busuk,' even in adulthood or marriage. The pillow's physical state becomes secondary; its distinctive scent holds an irreplaceable sentimental value. Intan's 'bantal busuk' has transformed into a mere rag, a fragment separated from its original pillow.
Without exaggeration, the accompanying image provides undeniable evidence.
Despite the pillow's irreparable condition, Intan steadfastly refuses to part with it, finding joy in inhaling its familiar aroma. Those who have experienced a similar attachment to their childhood pillow can undoubtedly empathize with her sentiment. Although the pillow appears beyond restoration in the video, some possessions defy disposal, irrespective of their state.
Even though it has devolved into a rag, Intan explicitly expresses her reluctance to relinquish her 'bantal busuk.' She asserts that the pillow's condition does not diminish her determination to keep it by her side, remaining emotionally connected to it.
"I truly can't fathom losing my pillow for good."
When questioned about the duration of her companionship with the pillow, the revelation is astonishing.
"It has been with me since 1998. It's been a considerable amount of time," shares Intan.
The pillow has aged 25 years, standing only a few years shy of reaching its third decade.
As of now, Intan firmly states that she has no intentions of replacing her 'bantal busuk' and has not procured a spare pillow for when the current one inevitably bids farewell. The clip below offers a glimpse of Intan's unwavering loyalty and attachment to her cherished pillow.
