Chinese Woman Forces Luxury Store Staff to Count RM367k in Cash for Two Hours After Being Ignored
Have you ever walked into a luxury store only to be ignored by the staff? A woman in China decided to take matters into her own hands after experiencing this treatment.
According to the South China Morning Post, social media in mainland China has been buzzing with delight after a wealthy woman made the staff of a luxury brand store count her cash for two hours before walking out.
The woman, feeling snubbed at a Louis Vuitton (LV) outlet, returned to the store two months later with 600,000 yuan (RM367,000) in cash to exact her revenge.
Using the alias xiaomayouren on the social media platform Xiaohongshu, she shared her "infuriating" experience at the StarLight Place shopping centre in Chongqing, southwestern China, in June.
During her first visit, the woman, carrying a Hermes handbag, went to the LV store to shop for clothes but was met with cold and dismissive behavior from the staff.
They ignored her request for drinking water and only showed her outdated seasonal items when she was hoping to see the new arrivals. The staff even rolled their eyes and looked impatient when she asked to try on some dresses.
After leaving the store, the woman contacted the luxury brand’s headquarters but received no response. Holding a grudge for two months, she returned to the store with a large bag containing 600,000 yuan.
She tried on some clothes and told the salesperson she would buy them. Then, she handed over the bag of cash to pay.
After the staff spent two hours counting the money, the woman told them, "We don’t want to buy now. We are leaving."
"After they finished counting, I just took my money and left. How could I possibly buy their products to boost their performance?" she wrote on Xiaohongshu.
The story quickly went viral, earning widespread praise from internet users.
